Air Dispatch support C27 Deployment to Australia
Air Dispatch has had a longstanding contract to support the Alenia Aeronautical when it deploys its products for testing or air shows throughout the world. We were proud to support the first visit of the C27J to the Australia Airs how earlier this year. The Logistics of the operation are immense and a project manager is allocated to each trip as soon as it is announced and they become the primary contact during the preparation they then travel with the aircraft throughout the tour and act as the liaison in the post project paperwork mountain.
On this occasion getting the aircraft to Australia took 6 days with stops in Greece The UAE, India, Thailand, Singapore and Darwin. Being a Military aircraft the engineering requirements are slightly different that a commercial one and we sometime have to work hard to find servicing equipment such as Liquid Oxygen.
Once at the Air show we liaise with the organisers about the flying display, on this occasion this was more complicated as they wanted to do a barrel roll which became a highlight of the flying display. The days are long for the flight manager, normally between 14 and 16 hours. But the experience is one they never forget.
Once the air show was complete it was back along the same route this an additional stop in Brunei and 26 days after leaving Turin Peter was back in the office to sort out the post project paperwork.
