Air Dispatch support four European Music tours
simultaneously
With more and more bands going on the road the number of charter flights with production crews and support staff also increases. Even with a solo artiste the production crew and orchestra can number nearly 150 people, organising the airport transits for groups this size takes some planning. Air Dispatch can operate in two ways either having our local managers at the airports coordinate with the tour management or alternatively dedicating a flight manager to the tour.
Prior to the day we coordinate between the tour management airport authorities and ground transport companies on the arrival and departure procedure. Often the baggage arrives separate and well before the crew so special arrangements have to be made to ensure that the check in goes smoothly. With the groups moving several times a week by air and wanting the same procedure at a different airport with a different airline and a different handler there is a lot of diplomacy required by our flight managers to achieve a perfect result every time. We are always very discreet in our handling of the tours which prevents us from naming the bands concerned suffice to say they attract crowds of tens of thousands at every event. .
