Air Dispatch received a call from one of its customers at 5PM on Saturday evening, they had an AOG aircraft in Hawaii and had identified the nearest spare part was at Rolls Royce in Derby. The Airline had an aircraft ferrying from the Middle East back to the US and were looking to call in at Manchester to pick up the spare part.
Air Dispatch was able to advise that the airline that Nottingham East Midlands Airport was a more suitable stopping point. We then set up full handling and supervision coordinated the delivery of the part and airport access. The aircraft arrived at 5AM and was on the ground for only 30 minutes before continuing to its planned destination of Shannon.
The Maintenance management of the airline was delighted with the coordination of the stop as they calculated it had saved them 24 hours of aircraft down time in Hawaii
