Air Dispatch: the premier aviation support company

Air Dispatch wins Massive new contract with Finnair and opens a Centralied Load Control Unit.

Finnair has become the latest company to turn to Air Dispatch International’s services by signing a significant new contract with the airline representation and station management experts.

The company will produce more than 50,000 load documents per year for Finnair’s European flights, using state-of-the-art technology from its newly-built centralised load control (CLC) centre in Prague.

Air Dispatch will be the first company in Europe to utilise Amadeus Altea Departure Control (Fly), the industry’s premier Departure Control System (DCS) built on new generation technology.

The investment represents a step up from widely used departure and load control systems, originally developed in the 1970s and increasingly outdated in today’s fast moving airline industry.

The ultra modern technology will allow Finnair, who fly almost 9 million passengers and 83,000 tonnes of cargo and mail a year, to streamline operations and maximise revenue on every seat.

Jiri Krakora, manager of Air Dispatch’s CLC centre in Prague, said:

"We are delighted to be partnering such a respected industry leader as Finnair and feel this is a significant endorsement of the Altea Fly system we have in place.

“We believe many more airlines can increase their revenues and improve efficiency by utilising our CLC centre with its extra capacity and highly trained staff."

Nick Yeadon, managing director for Air Dispatch, added:

“We are delighted to have won the Finnair contract in what proves a highly competitive marketplace.

“It is a testament to our investment in cutting edge technology and our high levels of client service.”

Air Dispatch will provide full load documentation for Finnair aircraft including Embraer EM170 and EM190, Airbus A319, A320 and A321s. In the event of a system outage, the CLC will also provide documentation for Finnair’s long haul flights on aircraft including MD11s and A340s.

The operation, which starts in January 2008, represents Air Dispatch’s single biggest contact since 2001.

Air Dispatch has offices at many of the world’s major airports, offering outsourced Airline Representation and Station Management services, handling a variety of day to day aircraft operations, sales and marketing, administration and customer service functions including check-in and ticketing, aircraft turnaround, airport slots, crewing, catering, onboard flight managers and load planning / load-mastering.
