Air Dispatch speak at key IATA conference
Air Dispatch Managing Director Nick Yeadon was a speaker at the recent IATA operation symposium. His presentation entitled “The centralisation of load Control: optimising the cost saving benefits and overcoming the challenges” opened with a brief history of load control before moving on to demonstrate the savings to be made by centralisation. He showed it was possible for a medium sized carrier with 50 destinations to save over three man years of training time along with 1000 nights of associated hotel costs and 250 return flights. He then went on to demonstrate how, through centralisation, a load controller would gain, each year, 20 times the experience that a decentralised load controller would gain. the cost saving element concluded with a look at the ground breaking work that Air Dispatch are doing to analyze the fuel savings of each load controller. The final part of the presentation dealt with the potential pitfalls of centralisation and how they could be overcome, issues such as the number and geographical location of the CLC hubs as well as the need to change operational procedures at all levels within the airline as well as dealing with the labour issues centralisation could create within the carriers.
The presentation was swell received and has lead to a number of enquires from airlines. Air Dispatch hopes to soon announce the second and third customers for its independent load control centre in Prague.
