New Office at Hahn Airport
Air Dispatch GmbH will open its newest office
at Hahn Airport in May. Managed by Axel Spothelfer, the office
will provide supervision and load control for Atlas Air,
Polar Air Cargo, Ryan International Airlines, North American
Airlines and ATA Airlines. Hahn is Germany’s fastest growing
airport. Starting with one Condor charter flight per week
in 1996, the airport
now sees over 3 million passengers use its facilities each
year. Its main customer is Ryan Air, with eight based aircraft.
It is also the German freight hub for Qantas, using Atlas
Air equipment, and Aeroflot Russian Airlines. The airport
is popular with freight charter carriers due to its low handling
and parking costs, as well as its proximity to Frankfurt
and Luxemburg.
‘ We see Hahn Airport as the next major Air Dispatch
station in mainland Europe’ said Stuart Burrows, joint
Managing Director of Air Dispatch GmbH. ‘The current
situation at Frankfurt means that growth potential is limited,
and airlines are looking for cost effective alternatives.
We intend to provide the same high level of service that
our customers have come to expect at Frankfurt, while helping
Hahn to realize its potential as a freight hub of the future.’
Hahn Airport has recently completed major runway improvements
and will shortly begin construction on a new passenger terminal.
We look forward to becoming a part of the Hahn
success story.
